Yeah, read that on Mullins blog (I think...which is fantastic). I am hoping selfishly that he doesn't do too well. OK I hope he lights it up and gets into the regular season. We all already knew that his skills where only surpassed by his work ethic, now fans in the US capital know it too.

Eakin will be playing again tonight.
Washington is down to 21 forwards:
Aucoin, Backstrom, Beagle, Bradley, Chimera, Eakin, Fehr, Fleischmann, AGordon, BGordon, Hendricks, Johansson, Joudrey, King, Knuble, Laich, Ovechkin, Perreault, Pinizzotto, Semin, Steckel

I don't think he will crack that lineup but you never know.

Eakin scored another one in Washington. This time it was the game winner.

Eakin scored another one in Washington. This time it was the game winner.

And he picked up 3rd star of the game.

Regardless how good Eakin is playing, the depth on washington could still result in Eakin being returned to junior. Great for us Broncos fans!! Any word on Washington or Swift Current?

From this:
http://www.csnwashington.com/09/28/10/Young-Centers-Help-Caps-To-Exhibition-Wi/landing.html?blockID=320510&feedID=6357

All three young centers competing for a spot with the Washington Capitals were in the lineup Tuesday night for the team’s first home preseason contest.

All three young centers made another strong case for a job in a 3-2 victory against the Boston Bruins at Verizon Center. Each had a part in one of Washington’s goals – Mathieu Perreault and Cody Eakin scored and Marcus Johansson assisted on one.

“They’re playing pretty well,” Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said. “Every game they’re doing something to sit there and at night and say, ‘they should stay, they should go, they should stay, they should go.’ I know the future looks bright at the center spot when you add Nicky [Backstrom] into that young group. We don’t know – we’ve got another week or so to make a decision I think.”

So another week I guess

Just heard on the news he is back

for everyone else in the division. Eakin will free up alot of space for our other lines. Our second and third lines should have good years as most teams will really be keying on eakins line.
