I was watching this game and Edmonton side by side so I wasn't paying attention all night

Just a solid effort top to bottom for the Wheaties again tonight. This team just gets it right now. All 4 lines play the exact same way and this may be the hardest working bunch we have had in awhile. Too say this team is tenacious is an understatement they are going to drive teams nuts.

Rimmer had a solid game in net. I thought the first goal was a bit of a lucky one and the last one was just a great play by a good player in Howden.

The defense was really solid. Bestland played his best game and the rest were making simple plays all night. Helps alot when you don't allow many shots but the Wheaties were in MJ's end most of the night. Fransoo looks so much more confident, he is going to be good. Pulock looked good again and he and Roy will make a nice platoon this year.

The forwards were all solid this game. They played with alot of tenacity and drew alot of penalties with there speed and forecheck. Good to see Seaman fight not once but twice. Galbrath looks like a tough little bugger.

Nice to get off to such a good start.

Galbraith looked chippy in training camp, even though he's small he might be a good guy to keep around for his fiesty play, he seems versatile also, playing wing and defence.
What led to Seaman's fights, and how did he do? He is a great prospect.
If last years team would have played at this level of intensity, we would have won the conference, but that team was way too casual and inconsistent.

Also pretty impressed how Melnychuk and Miller have done so far as the top pairing, it's a big step up, especially for Miller who hasn't played that many minutes in all reality.
Stone looks as though he is realizing his potential, and Walker may make us forget about DePape!!

Loved both of Seaman's fights. The first one was because he absolutely drilled a MJ player. The second one he came to the defense of a player who got rocked. Typical fights for a 16 year old, balance issues etc..He could be a real force with the fists once he learns to do it.

Always amazed at Brandon's ability to find players. Walker was an 8th round pick. Ferland was never drafted. Sinatynski was a 12th rounder. Bestland was never drafted. Galbrath was a late rounder as well.

Walker was actually a 12th round pick in the 2007 bantam draft. In the same draft class, Jesse Sinatynski was a 13th round pick, and Ty Rimmer was a 14th round pick (2nd last overall).

Unbelievable late-round drafting, to go along with securing Ferland from the same age group.

We really suck at drafting early, besides in 06 when we got Schenn and Glennie in the first and second rounds, and Brodie in the third. The rest of that draft, nobody panned out at all.
