A few Silvertips fans (myself, my wife, and infant daughter included) will be visiting Saskatoon from December 9-11 (Thursday-Saturday), for the first time ever. We will be watching the Blades face-off against the Everett Silvertips (our hometown team).

Here are some questions I would like answered by Saskatoon fans:
1) Should we buy tickets in advance, or should we purchase tickets at the box office the day of the game?
2) Would that particular game be a sellout? Any concerns for getting tickets?
3) Do any fans meet anywhere before games, for dinner?
4) Would any fans like to meet a few Silvertips fans before the game?
5) Any recommendations for things to do in or near the city, especially because we will have several days available?

Any advice and/or assistance would be much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Redwic

Here's some answers..

1. You can buy tickets before the game at the ticket office or a day earlier if you feel like it but rather then come to the rink twice, you'll be able to get good seats the day of the game, even if u come to the rink an hour or so before game time.

2. The game won't be a sell out which is to bad. Don't get why people can't get off their lazy butts and go to games. I try and go to as many as I can.

To answer ur other questions, there is a fan club I think but i dunno if they get together on game days for supper or anything like that and im sure there'll be fans there at the game that would meet ya and watch the game with u. There's not to many tourist attractions in my opinion in the city, we do have malls and theatres though obviously.

I was wondering why there were so many Americans jerseys in the building during the game against Brandon.

I knew that the team was already in town and likely attending the game, but I guess some of their fans made the trip as well.

Were u one of the ones to watch the Blades play Brandon last night?

first if you're driving have your aaa, roadside assistance, or onstar ready. it never hurts to have the extra coverage in the event of the unexpected, especially travelling with a little one, and on the canadian prairies.

1 - you should be able to get tickets day of at the box office.
2 - it won't be a sellout (unfortunately), you won't have a problem getting good seats.
3 - as has been posted there is a supper buffet for only $12 before the game in the backstage lounge (roast beef, salads, etc.)
4 - if i'm at the game, i'll keep my eys open for the 'tips fans with a youngin' in tow, and introduce myself! enjoy yourselves.
5 - ...

If you are not being sarcastic, then you must be mistaken. The Everett Silvertips do not play in any of those cities until early December.

However, the Tri City Americans will be playing in these cities this week. I know a couple of fans not only going to those games, but to other non-Americans WHL games as well. I believe last night was one of those games they planned to see. At least one of those guys (who is a friend of mine) has an Everett Silvertips jersey, but it would not be like him to wear it there. Perhaps he was just not showing his true colors? lol

There is a lot to do in this city!

For hotels:

The travelodge has a huge waterslide
The Sheraton has a HUGE waterpark, plus great restaurants offering a riverside view.
The Saskatoon Inn is very beautiful on the inside, I suggest you visit the individual websites to the hotels to see pictures and get rates.

As far as the tickets go, you could always go to www.ticketmaster.ca and purchase them online, then have them either mailed to you or have them held for pickup. I've been to the buffet and it isn't bad at all.

There is a tonne of shopping to do out here, with one mall having theatres. Downtown is quite good with a variety of restaurants.

Hey....if you guys want, I am a season ticket holder and have 2 seats. With each season ticket book I get vouchers to be used for any game. If you wanted, I would give you and your wife two vouchers for game tickets.

Let me know.

Now that we have a person to be our home-squatter and watch our dogs, we will be ready to head up to the Great White North in a few days. We have game-tickets, plane tickets, lodging, and rental car reserved.

There will be at least nine Everett Silvertips season-ticket holders heading up for the East Division trip. It might sound like much, but considering the team would be lucky to have 2-3 normally go on that trip, let alone in December, it should be a good little contingent.

My wife and I will be the only Everett fans bringing a child (ours is an infant), so we should be fairly recognizable just from that alone. The other fans will include our trip & lodging buddy (Tony), a car containing three women, and a middle-aged couple. We hope to meet a lot of great hockey fans, see a lot of competitive hockey games, and tour the beautiful Winterized prairies.

If anyone wants to meet at or prior to the game in Saskatoon, just let me know on here by this Thursday night. We will be attending the pre-game buffet dinner at the arena. Feel free to say "hello" while we are there! We might not have internet access for the first-half of the trip.
