The Hitmen were finally able to win their first game of the season last Saturday night. They played a fairly even first period (based on listening to the radio and checking the boxscore) with the Warriors. The two teams exchanged a couple goals a piece and were tied at 2-2 after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Hitmen really took control. Cody Beach scored his first goal in his first game back from NHL camp, which based on the pbp was a very nice goal. It turned out to be the game winner.

Mackenzie Royer put the Hitmen up by 2 just past the half way mark of the 3rd. It seems the Warriors lost their composure at that time. Kendall Mcfaul, bite Kris Foucault in a scrum and was assessed a match penalty. Mcfaul has since been suspended for his actions. The Hitmen were able to fire home 2 more late goals, both power play goals.

Hopefully the win gives the boys some confidence, it was their first win period this year, preseason and regular season games. They are a much better team with Matt MacKenzie and Cody Beach in the lineup. Still will be interesting to see what happens with the overagers. Fisenko did not play Saturday night.
