Everett, WA -- Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced Thursday that the Silvertips have acquired center Parker Stanfield from the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a 6th round draft pick in 2012. Stanfield, 20, has recorded 100 points on 46 goals and 54 assists in 212 career WHL games.

Stanfield, of Anaheim, CA, stands 6’2 and weighs 180 pounds. Through four games this season, he has recorded four points on one goal and three assists. A versatile and quick forward, Stanfield missed only eight games through his first three WHL seasons, including a stretch of 101 consecutive games played from February 2008 to October 2009. He was named as Prince George’s Rookie of the Year following his 17-year old campaign in 2007-08 in which he potted 14 goals and added nine assists for 23 points in 67 games.

“We are very happy to be able to add a center of Parker’s caliber and experience,” Soetaert said. “He is a strong skater with good hands and will strengthen our team down the middle.”

Stanfield joins center Clayton Cumiskey and defenseman Chad Suer as the three allotted overagers on the Silvertips’ roster.
