With the news of the Saskatoon Blades quite possibly hosting the 2012/2013 Memorial Cup. I thought it would be interesting to see what the depth chart looks like at this point in regards to a bit of a look at the roster.

Keep in mind though that there will likely be some of these younger players listed below who will not be around due to trade to fill holes and bulk up for the run. Also for the 12/13 roster, I will not include any 16 yr olds for a few reasons. Mainly, I have no clue if the Blades will keep those picks, also if they do select players, they may trade them.

Saskatoon Blades 2011/2012 projected LineupForwards LW/C/RW
Hamilton (20) - Benson (18) - Nicholls (19)
Dziurzynski (20) - Sutter (18) - Stransky (18)
Johnson (19) - Olsen (17) - Bews (17)
Daae (18) - Magauley (16) - Stovin (17)
A. Elliott (18)
N. Zajac (16)
H. Morrison (17)
Note: If Hamilton or Dziurzynski don't return, look for Johnson to move up and one of the listed Elliott, Zajac or Morrison to move in to the lineup. The depth and talent up front for next year could be even better than this year.

Defence L/R
Siemens (18) /Dietz (18)
Kizuik (19) /Thrower (18)
Nikkel (16) /Vandane (19)
Stipancik (17)
Statchuk (17)
Lawson (17) - would be huge for the Blades if he committs.
Note: If one of Dziurzynski or Hamilton turn pro next year, then look for Saskatoon to acquire a veteran 20 year old to play in the top 4 defence. Something they may have to look at anyway.

Goaltenders
Morrison (20)
Iwan (18)
Oswald (18)
Todd (17)

Saskatoon Blades Memorial Cup 2012-2013 roster
Forwards LW/C/RW
Stransky (19) - Benson (19) - Nicholls (20)
Johnson (20) - Olsen (18) - Bews (18)
Daae (19) - Sutter (19) - Stovin (18)
Zajac (17) - Magauley (17) - Morrison (18)
Stockl (17)
Penner (17)
Note: Looking at the lineup here, it seems as though Johnson isn't likely to stay on the 2nd line as a 20 year old. Time will tell though as he seems to be a late bloomer and could perform. Also, Bews and Olsen over the next couple years should emerge and be elite players in the league. Sutter would make the perfect checking line center for an elite team. Daae and Stovin will be ready to step up as well.

Defence L/R
Siemens (19) - Dietz (19)
Nikkel (17) - Thrower (19)
Stipancik (17) - Kizuik (20)
Lawson (18) - again, he moves up in the top 6 if committed.
Statchuk (18)
Note: Very doubtful that Kizuik will be a 3rd pairing 20 year old. It is possible that the team will look for someone to play for Nikkel on the 2nd pairing.

Goaltending
Iwan (19)
Todd (18)
Oswald (19)
