Well tonight starts off a big weekend early in the season for the Pats & a weekend where the Pats MUST play better. After sitting around for almost a week thinking about that last game where they lost 11-1 to Spokane they better put in the effort right from the get go tonight against the Warriors.

I am really hoping Hewitt gets the start tonight, especially after some of the brutal goals Ketlo & Guhle both gave up on saturday night. Also hoping that Stephenson is back into the line up. To me he was finally starting to look like he was comfortable playing in the league, gaining some confidence by being on the 2nd PP unit.

Mainly i just want a better effort all around, as i want to be ENTERTAINED & not leave at the end of the 2nd period. I want my full money's worth tonight Pats!

I agree.... A huge weekend for the team.

I'm hoping that they will rebound and come back with more intensity and play more of a team game.

In all honesty I don't care who starts in net. I think all three are capable (maybe not true #1's) of playing in this league and if the team plays bad in front of them. They just need to play well and make saves. I wish they would make their minds up and get down to two goalies.

I read that Stephenson was out due to personal reasons (I think on the LP website). I hope everything is alright and he gets back in the lineup. He's definitely one of the Pats more skilled players.

In my 31 years watching the Pats I can only remember leaving early from one game due to their play and that was the 12 win season and Medicine Hat was laying a beating on the team.

well i left early cuz i had PS3 buddies blackberry messenging me to come play club (on NHL11) as soon as i got home... so i thought screw it this game is long but over & the effort was terrible wasnt like i missed anything... i still listened to it on the radio lol doesnt that count.

I just like Hewitt better, he seems to give the team more energy & he is very good at playing the puck, something Ketlo & Guhle are horrid at

Regarding Hewitt... He does seem to have something the other two are lacking.... Puck movement I'm not so sure about.... like I said before I don't care who plays net just as long as they give effort and give the Pats a chance.

The next game Hewitt plays in watch him with how much more confident he is at playing the puck then Ketlo & Guhle. Ketlo & Guhle always seem to leave the puck in the worst possible positions for out Dmen.

The 1st game Hewitt played in i could see he had the confidence in playing the puck but was still unsure of his Dmen at the time as its all about commincation when doing this. His last start i had seen he was moving the puck much better (i thought)

I think the thing Hewitt has going for him that the other two dont is that our goaltending coach hasnt ruined him yet. To me, it seems many of the goalies that have come through here lately have not really improved much if at all since they started.

That being said, goaltending is far from our worst issue, as we all know by now it often goes further than a single issue.

Ketlo was fantastic tonight cant say much about the rest of the group tho altho Reddin & Mitchell worked there tails off tonight as well.

I thought Blidstrand played a solid game he even threw 2 body checks tonight which is new but nice to see. The lone goal we score tonight is on a shift when Ashton played with Reddin & Mitchell, Ashton showed great hussle all nite particularly on that goal alone.

How do we go from matching MJ in the 1st period to totally not showing up at all in the 2nd period? It surprises me how the 2nd period has been our worst all season long. I personally think it is coaching, our opposition make coaching adjustments during the intermission & our coaching (Hunt) does nothing different.

Also when has Hunt learned how to operate a 5on3 PP??? we are so spread out with zero threat of a 1timer from anywhere, oh right Bell is set up for it but way down in the fricken corner which takes him out of the play to begin with. There is so much wrong with this team but it all starts with our terrible coaching. Lets face it Hunt's defensive style of game doesnt cut it anymore.

Our forecheck is horrid, HUNT WAKE THE HELL UP WE HAVE A QUICK TEAM QUICKER THEN MOST ON MOST NIGHTS BUT WE HAVE NO FORECHECK WHY IS THAT HUNT????

Ketlo had strong game and looks to be the official number 1 on this club.He faced alot of shots and make some nice circus saves. All the goals tonight were avoidable team blunders. The first goal against was a simple relunctance on getting the puck deep and changing .The Oulette line had several chances to dump and change but continually turned it over in the neutral zone leaving all 5 guys on the ice for a painful 2 minutes and fishing the puck out of their own net.I thought 55 played the second goal all wrong ,not taking the shooter and letting the shooter shoot and a rebound resulted in a goal. The third goal was an empty netter and heck the Pats had a chance to tie the game with a two man advantage but were content on firing wide angle shots and failed to capitalize.Overall,The Pats played well at times but need to string together a solid 60 minutes.Obviously the team needs to score more goals but didnt really get too many good even strength chances.

Ketlo did have a strong game & should be our #1 goalie but the problem with Ketlo is after 3 solid/decent games he has a mental problem in the 4th games & losses his concentration & gives up some bad goals. If Hunt could realize this Ketlo would play 3 straight & then be backup to Hewitt/Guhle for a game. Im actually defending Ketlo here which i rarely ever do cuz im not a big fan of him, but this season he has actually stole the show in games which he has never done in his career before. He just has problems with consistancy.

I thought 55 played the second goal all wrong ,not taking the shooter and letting the shooter shoot and a rebound resulted in a goal.

He played that 2nd goal exactly how a Dman is suppose to he directed the back checking winger to stay tight on the player driving for the rebound & he forced the shooter to shoot instead of a pass across the crease.

But this play was far from the reason we lost. The game shouldnt of even been close tonight but Ketlo stood on his head in the 2nd period.

My problem with the Pats tonight, and has been the case for most of the games this year, is the lack of effectiveness on the PP. I know this has probably beaten to death already on what could be done to improve the PP, but I have a suggestion, and I had a similar suggestion last year.

Last year Jordan Eberle was the best player on the team. The "anchor" on the PP should always be the best player, or the go to guy upfront. If I were Hunt, I would consider moving Weal to the point, giving him more room to make a play. I realize he doesn't possess the booming shot that some would say is desired, but he'll be able to make a good pass to the guy down low(Frazee), or to the other side in Mitchell. In my opinion, when Ashton is anything but infront of the net he is a detrimant to the power play. Let Weal make the pass down low to either Mitchell or Frazee, or pass across the blue line and let Bell go hammer time.

Ummm do u actually watch the Pats PP where Weal plays now along the half wall gives him the best position to make passes but the problem with the Pats PP (any Hunt run PP) is that everyone is so bunched up & there is no player movement on the PP everyone is a stand still. It worked last year cuz u had to very agile players in Weal & Eberle but Hunt is still trying to run the same PP but he forgets something..... HUNT THERE IS NO MORE EBERLE ON THE ICE

Its time to change up how Hunt runs a PP. I dont understand why Blidstrand isnt on the PP either the guy is by far our best passer on the team just outside of the 1st line no 1 can receive passes & makes him look like the goat more times then not. Yes i do know his defensive play isnt where it should be but he is learning he has made great strides defensively since game 1.

Why is Spooner like out PP specialist?? We dress 7 D lately & Spooner rarely sees any ice 5on5 but as soon as there is a PP guess who is out there to start the PP yep thats right Spooner.

I am sure the pats will be going 0-3 this weekend as much as i dont want them too i think its reality.

i am looking for the Pats to bounce back tonight. It was nice that the Pats kept it tight last night and were unlucky to not come out with at least a point.Ketlo played great and i hope that he gets all 3 starts this weekend. The Pats deperately need points this weekend, hope that it starts tonight with a big W in the crushed can

Pats win,Pats win!!! a solid effort tonight. It was nice to see Hewitt in net tonight and he was SOLID.Ketlo faced alot of shots this weekend and needed a rest.It was nice to see Hewitt have strong game ,Hewitt has been consistent and looks to be a profound number 2 goalie in the system overtaking Guhle .I liked the effort from the entire team .Hopefully the Pats can build on this solid effort tonight

Even though the pats are hurtings in all positions. Goaltending is the weakest link. Would be nice to get a big forward that can skate and hit. Blidstrand is horrible. He's like a combo of sparrow and bortsy. The sooner we get rid of him the better. way to much playing time. Ketlo did some acrobatic saves this weekend but don't all bad goalies play like they would playing street hockey.

good post ,the Pats record speaks for itself right now.The record is not good. The goals against are way up.I fing that when the team does have success it is in a low scoring affair.Playing good defensive hockey gives the team a chance to win .One has to believe that trader Lang is looking at all positions and if he feels that he can upgrade the team and then he will pull the trigger.Picking up Reddin,Schneider and Bidlevski seemed to be the best trades this year so far.

Blidstrand has been playing great as of late, its not his fault the forwards cant receive a hard crisp pass. Blidstrand is a great puck moving Dman his defensive play lacks abit but he has made great strides defensively the past couple weeks. Its a different game out here then it is back in sweden cut him some slack there is alot of potential in this kid. Which is why PHI drafted him & sent him here to learn the north american game.
