new logo an April fools joke?

Friday April 01, 2011 The Kelowna Rockets would like to announce they have produced a new logo that will debut for the second round of the WHL playoffs.

The logo, which has been painted onto the ice at Prospera Place, is a stylized Rocket, symbolizing the team's take-off to the stratosphere since arriving in Kelowna 15 years ago.

"We felt it was the perfect timing to change our logo to this sharp new design," said Rockets VP of business development.

This has to be an April Fools joke. The article was pulled down from the whl site and having a new logo at center ice in time for round 2 doesn't make sense

it has to be a joke as the new logo looks like a joke! The Rockets have one of the best logos and colour schemes in the league that is a reflection of the area.The Rocket name came from the teams days in Tacoma which economy is based around Boeing.The new logo looks like a Johnson lol

looks to be an Aprils fools joke as the Kelowna Rockets website has no story on the ridiculous looking logo on the WHL website.The league office has a great sense of humour if that is the case lol
