Brett Bulmer signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Selected in the second round, 39th overall, in last June‘s NHL entry draft, Bulmer is still likely to spend a third WHL season in Kelowna‘s fold. He turns 19 on Tuesday and is therefore too young to play in the AHL next season, so he‘d have to make the jump straight to Minnesota or return to the Rockets for more seasoning.

Bulmer has joined the AHL’s Houston Aeros for the duration of the season... The Aeros, meanwhile, signed Kelowna D Colton Jobke to an amateur tryout... Houston swept the Peoria Rivermen from the first round of playoffs and is waiting for the winner of a series between the Milwaukee Admirals and Texas Stars.

But I think he could benefit from more time in the WHL. Yet I don't get to see him nearly as much as you do. I'd love to write up a prospect profile on this guy. What did you think of Brett Bulmer's progress over the course of the season?

What improvements (if any) did he make?

Did you think he showed more maturity this season or was he the same kind of player (discipline, etc) that he was last year?

What part of his game do think will give him the best chance to be successful and what part of his game do you think could hold him back?

Any nagging concerns or issues about this kid?

Do you feel he lived up to your expectations, why or why not?

In his game last night against Milwaukee he was relegated to the 4th line. Milwaukee is a tough team to make your pro debut against.
