US Prospect Development Camp

Hi there... A fairly new WHL fan and i was wondering this US Development camp... what is it all about... Is it like a camp where US players obviously go to but i mean whats the point of it.. Like can WHL sing these players and add them to their reserve list... like is it kind of like finding the diamond in the rough type thing?

The US Prospect Development camp put on by the WHL is primarily an identification camp.All WHL teams have scouts at camp.WHL teams are identifying premier talent for the upcoming WHL bantam draft.Teams are making sure which players would be interested in playing in the WHL as opposed to the NCAA route.This year ,i understand that former NHL player Darcy Tucker is involved as well as 94 Kamloops Blazer Chase Souto. The camp has been a huge success over the years and the WHL is working hard to get a similiar camp going in Texas.
