The Kelowna Rockets have acquired 17-year-old Penticton native Carter Rigby from the Prince George Cougars.

The Rockets acquired Rigby ('94) along with a conditional 6th round WHL bantam draft pick in exchange for a 3rd round bantam draft pick in 2012.

"This was an opportunity for us to acquire a real good young player," said Rockets general manager Bruce Hamilton. '"We're looking forward to him getting here and we hope he can work his way into our lineup."

Rigby, a 6-foot, 210 pound forward played 3 games with the Cougars last season but spent the majority of his season in Junior B. In 26 games with Osoyoos of the KIJHL Rigby scored nearly 2 points a game, finishing the season with 22 goals and 43 points.

Rigby then joined Penticton of the BCHL for the final 10 games of the season, scoring one goal and adding 6 assists. In 9 playoff games with Penticton he had two goals and three assists.
