Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals' inaugural Black and White Intra-Squad Game, held on Wednesday, August 31st at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, generated over $7,000 in donations for local organizations.
National Bank Financial Group sponsored the game, where more than $6,500 in admission donations and chuck-a puck proceeds were raised to benefit Free The Children, the world's largest network of children helping children through education. There are currently more than one million youth involved in innovative education and development programs in 45 countries.

The game also featured a 50/50 sale, which helped generate $550 for the Westshore Rebels Football organization. The Rebels are a part of the Canadian Junior Football League and currently sit third in the six-team B.C. Football Conference standings.

Victoria continues its exhibition schedule this weekend on the road when they face the Vancouver Giants on Friday in Ladner, BC and on Saturday in Maple Ridge, BC. The Royals' lone pre-season game at home will be on Friday, September 16, when they host the Rockets starting at 7:05 p.m. at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
