Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders announced today that they have released 18-year-old forward Brock Balson and have reassigned 17-year-old forward Joey Santucci and 18-year-old defenceman Matt Waseylenko to narrow their Western Hockey League roster to 26.



Balson appeared in 48 games during the 2010-2011 season with the Raiders, collecting 3 points and 13 penalty minutes. The Kamloops BC product also notched 1 assist in 3 pre-season games this year. He was picked in the third round, 61st overall in the 2008 Western Hockey League Bantam Entry Draft.



Santucci acquired 12 penalty minutes in 4 pre-season games with the Raiders. Last season he scored 13 goals and added 29 assists in 39 games with the Vancouver NE Chiefs of the British Columbia Major Midget Hockey League. Santucci is expected to report to a Junior A team in the British Columbia Hockey League.



Waseylenko, drafted by the Raiders in the fifth round of the 2008 WHL Bantam Entry Draft, had 1 assist and 7 penalty minutes in 3 pre-season contests. During the 2010-2011 season with the St. Albert Raiders of the Alberta Midget Hockey League, the defenceman scored 8 points to go with 60 penalty minutes. Waseylenko will head to the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.



The Raiders now have 2 goalies, 9 defencemen and 15 forwards on their roster, 5 of whom are 20-year-olds as they approach the 2011-2012 regular season, which begins in Saskatoon against the Blades Friday September 23rd. The Raiders open up their home schedule Saturday September 24th against the Blades.



The Raiders have also announced that 18-year-old defenceman Harrison Ruopp has been released from the Phoenix Coyotes National Hockey League training camp and will return to the Raiders this week.
