Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans today are pleased to announce that 19-year-old defenseman Logan Stephenson and 18-year-old goaltender Carey Price have been named to tryout. In all 44 of Canada’s best junior-aged hockey players (born in 1986 and 1987) to attend Canada’s National Junior Team Development Camp. The announcement was made today by Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League.



The 2005 National Junior Team Camp will be held in Whistler, B.C. August 10-15. Vancouver, Kelowna and Kamloops, B.C. will host the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship, December 26-January 5, 2006.



The club will be led by head coach Brent Sutter of the Red Deer Rebels for the second straight year. Sutter helped lead Canada to its first WJC title since 1997.



“We are all excited about Logan and Carey being named to the camp today,” said Americans vice president/general manager Bob Tory. “It’s the second year in a row the Americans have had two players named to the camp (Stephenson and Shawn Belle in 2004) and we wish both of them the best of luck in their pursuit in representing Canada at the World Junior Tournament this year.”
