Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals are proud to announce the launch of their ‘Stop Hunger’ Campaign this Friday, October 7th when Victoria hosts the Medicine Hat Tigers in the second of a two game series. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

For every save made by a Victoria Royals goaltender in both home and away games this season, a donation of one pound of non perishable food items will be made to the Mustard Seed, with hopes of achieving a total season goal of one ton of food. The program is being administered by the Shields Harney Law Firm and is proudly supported by The Zone @91.3, Save-On-Foods, Saputo and Kellogg’s

The Mustard Seed Food Bank finds its home within the walls of the Mustard Seed Street Church. Established in 1983 in answer to the increasing needs in Victoria, it has expanded to become the largest food bank on Vancouver Island.

With the donation of a non-perishable food item at the Select Your Tickets box-office, fans are eligible for a walk-up ticket discount of $3.00 on regularly priced adult, senior, or student corner section seats, or $2.00 on regularly priced children corner section seats to Friday night’s game.

Fans can keep track of the food drive’s progress via game broadcasts on The Zone@91.3 featuring the voice of the Royals, Marlon Martens, as well as at each home game through an in-game announcement and regularly updated tally board located next to the Major Cash $10 cash board on the concourse.
