Our old #10 has 5 points in 2 games so far in the AHL, nice start

Good on him. He should be getting called up soon too. He was in the AHL for mainly financial reasons, so one of his bonuses couldn't be fufilled and his cap hit would be less.

With all the depth that PHI has (which is alot more then LA upfront) Schenn will wait his turn til an injury happens forsure.

Alot of it will depend on what the Flyers are doing with Couturier as its either NHL or back to junior for him, & if Schenn is going to be in the NHL he will definately be in the top 6 playing 3rd or 4th line mins does not help him.

Great to see Schenn having success in the AHL though success starts there for most young players & builds into the NHL :)

Example Luke Adam

It won't hurt Schenn to play a month or 2 and dominate the AHL, build some confidence for the big show....

Not a great effort last night, but not totally unexpected as a young team will have their ups and downs. A couple of days off is just what the team needs. I wonder how long it will take Kelly to find a centre to play between Bertaggia and Stone. I would think that some teams could use a defenceman like Melnychuck or Hunter or Miller(all are tradeable). Jake Trask or Darian D. from the Blades might be good pickups depending on what they would want in return. Mollekan might be afraid to trade with Kelly after the Schenn deal---although unless Papirny, Mcgauly, Nikkel, and the Blades 1st pick this year, become impact players the trade may not be as lop-sided as people think. However if even 2 of those players become really good the trade would be a reasonding success. What the Blades will have to do this year is trade some of their older players in order to return the lost assests fron the Schenn deal much like McCrimmon did after the Hamonic deal. Thoughts anyone? Any rumours out there?

Something could be up cause last night Lorne Molleken wasn't even behind the Blades bench coaching, instead he was in Portland scouting the Wheaties and WinterHawks, both teams only have 2 20 year olds so something could be brewing, the Blades have until Friday to get down to 3 20 year olds

Melnychuk isn't going anywhere, he's a leader and will put up 40+ points this year. Miller on the other hand is expendable. Galbraith can fill that roll and is younger. Maybe deal Miller and a 2nd+ lower pick for a decent 1st/2nd line centre that's 18 or 19.
