Does anyone know why the WHL still uses seperate stats for OT losses and shoot out losses?

Win- Loss - OT loss - Shootout loss

Different stat, but means the same in points gained/lost

Frankly, I prefer to know whether a team lost in the shootout (which I still think is a bogus way to decide a winner) and whether they lost in OT .. stats are usually about details and a team losing in a shootout means something else than a team losing in OT - regardless of the points.

That's my take on it -- has the NHL amalgamated those stats or other CHL leagues?

Dondo, the NHL has amalgamated OT and shootout losses.

All three CHL leagues use 4 columns standings, seperating OT losses from shootout losses.

And on a side note, the Q has a terrible website.
