it gives the organization a chance to review Steve Young as a head coach and not need to bring on any extra payroll for the rest of the season. If it doesn't work out, they start fresh with new people next year......this would be my guess on the thought process.

I do believe Bruno did the best he could and did what he thought was right, it just wasn't working and a change was needed, he's not a fool he saw this coming.

With the experience Craig Bedard brings coaching in Sweeden and with the under 17 western teams I felt he would have been the better assistant to promote.

It was long overdue.Got rid of a screaming control freak and allowed an actual coach lead the team. Just look at the team record when Bruno was at GM meetings or scouting trips. GM job is a position in it self and in this day there is no one that can do both with success. Every player here is Brunos ....so if they do not win its all him..he was being a detriment now to attendance...if he would not have stepped down now hw would have been escorted out of town on sunday'''''after another short handed goal against and blowout

I was shocked by the vicious edge to the comments toward Bruno & the team in the "comments" section following the PA Now article on the press release. Not sure how much hockey knowledge some of these "fans" and readers have, but its obvious there is a lot of anger and frustration towards the Raiders after building high expectations in the community during the preseason for this year.
Don't forget that when he came here the team was one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the league. Off-ice discipline, frat-boy culture of the players, personality conflicts, you name it, we had it. That has all changed and we have a team of polite, respectable players who have a very professional attitude and represent our city well.
I think a lot of the good changes that Bruno brought to the organisation will be overlooked because of the underperformance of the team so far this year.
I think that everyone who follows the Raiders had high hopes for this year. Perhaps Bruno should have turned the reins over to Steve at the start of the season, but I really think he expected to do well this year, and wanted to be in a position to take credit for the success if it happened. Didn't turn out well, so he ended up manning up and taking responsibility for the lack of success. I'm impressed he realized that a fresh perspective might spur the players into achieving their potential. Good luck to Steve. Hopefully the team responds with a great 60 minute effort tonight.
God, we need a win tonight! Please PLEASE support the Raiders tonight, they are in need of all the fan support they can get. Let's show them we care.

Riders win today. Let's hope the Raiders do the same. Off to the rink to watch warm-up.

well, they didn't win but it wasn't for a lack of effort, just every mistake they did make ended up in their net. Still need some work on special teams, but it was a good effort tonight!!

Exciting game til the final buzzer. Lots of positives. Outplayed Saskatoon most of 2nd and big time in the 3rd. Liked our 2nd line pp WAY better than 1st line pp with the 2 forwards trying to play point. I hate to say it, but with even 1 defenseman on point, the short-handed winning goal doesn`t even happen. More short-handed scoring chances by opposition penalty kill than Raiders 1st line pp generates. Hope they look at the game film and realize that. It affected the outcome again tonight.

yep Fiddler Winther Burns wasn't a bad second unit on PP tonight, they generated chances. The 5 forward PP doesn't put a smile on my face, neither does anything #9 does right now, he is WAY TOO SELFISH!! needs to start playing like a team mate and start producing, 1st round nhler???

No one else is going to say it so I will. Mcneill and Herrod are one of the biggest reasons this team is in the crapper right now. I know they are the chosen ones and can do no wrong but the two leaders are doing anything but that right now. both have fallen off there pace from last year but thats not what concerns me. What I am worried about is the amount that line is getting outscored by there counter parts. I know plus minus is a misleading stat to a point but for these 2 to be a combined - 24 and Winther and Maylan are a combined plus 1 it should tell u something.

And then we go with 6 forwards when we pull the goalie

Mcneill and Herrod just need to simplify their games right now they are trying to be to fancy together. They should just get the puck and drive the net hard that is what they where doing last yr and it worked.

mcneill biggest problem is taken to long of shifts, him herrod and maylan take two minute shifts. your better off giving her hard for 30 seconds then get off. i hope the new coaching can see this.
