Record sure does not show it. The way we are headed is down the tubes with no hope in site. Unless we get our act together soon, the Royals will be without a crown.

And your point is?

They are juniors and are trying each and every game. They are not high paid "Professionals" that due to their pay demand perfection. I suggest you stop being Negative and get on the "Junior" bandwagon, you might be surprised one year. How many of your beloved SK's made the NHL?

The ONLY thing wrong with the Royals so far is the "Monarchy" music played when they score. The Queen has nothing to do with Canada since Trudeau and should be ousted from the Royals songbook.

December 20, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)

PRINCETON, N.J. - Former Victoria Salmon Kings goaltender Leland Irving has increased the number of former ECHL players to play in the National Hockey League to 477. Irving made his NHL debut on Friday for the Calgary Flames in a 3-2 shootout loss against the Florida Panthers.
The 23-year-old stopped 33 shots in regulation and overtime and made two saves on four shootout attempts for the Flames, whose line-up also included former ECHL player Derek Smith .

We were never told the truth about that guy, a contender for the worst "Captain" in hockey history.

No it would not. Had we won the cup last year, the Salmon Kings would still have been gone.
Writing was on the wall 8 years ago when the Kings came to Victoria to fill a void for the barn.
We all new that WHL would come to town, just not knowing when it would happen.
Kind of like Winnipeg moving and the AHL moving in. Winnipeg is back after many years and the Moose are no longer.
Many people are Poed that the Moose are gone but like us we learn to live with it and "life goes on"

And this season is widely acknowledged to be the bottom of the bell curve that exists in junior hockey - boom and bust depending on the age of your players. So pretty much like an expansion franchise, only with fewer older players. As I've said elsewhere, as this is new to people in Victoria, it's very much a honeymoon phase and a lot of slack is being cut. How long that grace period will last is open to question.
