Going the other way is a 5th round pick in 2013. The Raiders had an extra 5th rounder in 2013. Guenther is a 94 born.

Well we didnt really get younger, we gave up a 14 year old for a 17 year old lol. But chances of that 5th being as good as the player are pretty low.

He was a 3rd rounder in 2009 so that's a 3rd (now) for a 5th that wouldn't play until 2013, if ever. Not bad.

Hope that Dave can bring out the best in him.

we gave up very little, excellent pick up, good size and still young :)

What's with all the young d-men being moved this year i.e. Tanner Muth, Luke Fenske, Riley Guenther .... usually 17 and 18 yo d-men are hard to get ???

I'd take a 16-17 year old roster player or free agent anyday over a draft pick, unless you have an early pick and have a blue chipper in your sights. Draft picks are often a crap shoot and that may be as good as they get. At 16-17 you get a pretty good idea what you are getting now, when you need them. They likely improve also, and it's up to scouts and GMs to identify which ones you see potential for growth. This was a good addition. Depending on what happens today and the rest of the season, we have many players that have potential and it's up to them to live up to that potential. It takes icetime and chemistry. By next fall, the team will have a pretty good foundation and after camp, there may be prospects coming in and improving on what we have. We're progressing. Now we need to keep winning consistently.

Are we done or do we ship off Maylan or Tochkin today?

I think its gonna be tough to get rid of the 20 year olds.

That's a tough one. If it's only for a pick, I'd keep them. Helps the team fill the rink this year, helps us compete and brings along the young players, still gives us whatever chance we have to make playoffs, and they are great teammates. A trade is a good thing only if we get an impact younger player for next year or even this year, which may be possible. I'm happy with what we have, but Bruno might still work his magic today. If they go, I hope they go to a top team as a thanks.

Corbin and Hart would be the only ones that may move imo

Totally agree on Corbin...Hart could be more in-play if he wasn't hurt.

Suspense!

only move they were able to make today was sending Berry lamontagna back down to the BCHL to play for westside. I feel sorry for him, never really got a fair shake and should have been sent last year to develop.

hmm so i guess there was no 20 year old out there that could have helped the team. thought we would do something with the open spot.

oh well it is what it is
hope this team does continue its december play

Bruno made a couple good deals before the deadline, the fact he didn't make any today doesn't kill the organization. he got good return on Herrod did well to get rid of vanscourt and picked up what he hopes to be a 20 yr old point producer next year from Spokane for a guy who everyone wanted out of town in Fiddler(scoring at a nice clip in spokane) all in all I am not disappointed in what Bruno managed to do.
