Well tonite marks another big game this week by the blue & white the Pats really need a win tonite to stay in the pack, we picked up a very key point in the OT loss to the Ice but we need to beat the Tigers tonite in the worst way possible.

A win tonite would leap up over the Tigers (as long as its in regulation) the standings are just way too damn tight from 3rd thru 7th 1 win can leap u 2 spots easy depending where ur sitting..... (i didnt include 2nd cuz thats for the division leader which the Blades & Pats are only 4pts out of)

The Tigers the Pats should have alot more space to work with they dont really have a premier shut down guy as they prefer to play a more run n gun style, this should favor Weal's game tonite. The Pats will have to keep a close eye on Etem he is a game breaker just like Weal, give him an inch & he will make u look stupid.

Looking at the Pats website Underwood is no longer listed as injuried from that im expecting him to play tonite & looks like Burroughs is finally going to be stuck in the #s game with this teams deep blueline. With Underwood appearing to be back the Dmen better play & compete every nite now or they will find themselves a healthy scratch the following game as Burroughs is more then capable of playing 8 to 12 mins a night.

Also looks like Stephenson is 1 week away from a return to action as well, that will be a huge boost to the Pats much needed offensive support, will strengthen our 2nd line be it Stephenson on it or Schiedl with Marantz & Rodewald.

Hewitt had a strong game against the Ice & he will need another strong outting tonite against a good skating quick transition Tigers team. Our D will have to help Hewitt out & do there best at keep things to the outside. Be physical on their skilled guys.

Also for the love of god can our PP please start looking like a PP what the really sad thing is about this is as bad as our PP looks at times its still a HUGE step forward from our PP from last season. We need to shoot more instead of looking for the pretty goal, especailly Davidson he hasnt been getting pucks thru as of late it. Could it be cuz he was played so much early in the season & is showing some fatigue?? His game has just seemed to have changed the past few & not for the better.

Started off great the 1st 5 to 7 mins then MH took over & controlled the rest of the period. The Pats dump n chase is very ineffective against Bunz who is very active playing the puck & moves it extremely well.

Etem is such a great player can't say enough about him, still don't know how Anaheim kept Smith-Pelley over Etem.

A much better effort for the Pats in the 2nd period.

Hit of the nite & maybe even the year so far for the pats is Weal hip checking etem & sending him flying. The 2nd period was very physical clean hard hits both ways a playoff type atmosphere/game.

Pats need the exact same effort as the 2nd if they plan on tieing this game up.

Definately a tough loss yet again in OT, a very weak goal by Hewitt in OT no way in hell at this level of play should that goal find its way into the net.

With that said not taking anything away from either teams effort this game was a playoff type game & things really picked up in the 2nd period, with the physcial play (go to the pats website & look in the media center for game highlights right at the 1min mark is Weal's great hipcheck on Etem, sorry cant find an actual link for the vid)

Kudos to Olstad not backing down to Hurley & dropping the mits with him, Hurley definately had the size advantage but even with that was an easy draw (which doesnt say much for Hurley at all)

Was nice to see Underwood back in game action, his presence on the ice was definately felt for the Pats side, he moves the puck nicely & competes hard every shift.

Is Kessey always a hot dog type player? He definately knows how to get the other team fired up & battle that much harder for his lil crap show after his fight against Jobke (& wasnt much of a fight was more of a wrestling match) it was a very nice hit tho when Kessey lite up Jobke along the boards.

Weal is now sitting in 1st in the WHL scoring race, looks like this season the WHL will have possibly 5 or 6 100 point players. For the most part each player has about 25 games left (rough est.) & every player in the top 6 are 29pts or less to get 100pts which i think is very doable for all 6 guys (baring any injury which i hope doesnt happen to either guy)

Hunter Shinkaruk really impressed me tonite, he was a very good 16yr old last season the 1st time the Tigers were in the Brandt Center in early nov he didnt impress me much but tonite he looked very good. The Tigers lose Etem next season but that team is in great hands with another star player in Shinkaruk.

I thought tonite Jack Rodewald had an excellent game, he skated hard & finished checks all nite long. Im also really loving Marantz game as of late ever since he got that hat trick against PA early in the month his confidence level has skyrockted. Altho his point streak was snapped tonite he had a couple good quality shots on goal again & his break out leading the rush from behing the goal line has really added another element into his game.
