The Saskatoon Blades only needed one point on Friday night against the Brandon Wheat Kings to claim a playoff berth and instead they got two as they defeated the Wheat Kings 6-2 in Brandon.
The first period saw the Blades and the Wheat Kings exhange powerplay goals with Brandon's Alessio Bertaggia scoring first at 8: 10 followed by Saskatoon's Matej Stransky. The goal was Stransky's 36th of the season and 12th powerplay goal of the season.
