The Victoria Royals will have two players from their 2012 WHL Bantam Draft Class headed to Toronto this summer for a neat experience. Forwards Tyler Soy and Regan Nagy are among 42 bantam-aged players invited to the Allstate All-Canadian Mentorship Camp, which is hosted by the National Hockey League Players’ Association. The camp runs from July 17-21 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.

Former NHL’er Gary Roberts leads the way in an intensive five day camp that not only gives the players lessons on the ice, but shows the importance of physical fitness, nutrition habits and mental skills. This will be the second year for the mentorship camp and Royals’ first round pick Joe Hicketts attended the first camp last year.

Royals’ fans should be excited for the arrival of Soy to the BC Capital when he’s ready. He put up huge numbers for the Cloverdale Colts, with 65 points in only 20 games. Soy was the 8th overall selection in the Bantam Draft.

Nagy was selected in the second round with the 27th overall pick. The product of Ogema, Saskatchewan, had 30 goals and 46 points in 23 games for the Weyburn Wings in Bantam AA in Southern Saskatchewan. He is one of only four players invited to the camp from Saskatchewan.
