Here is how I see the lines more or less shaping up for the upcoming season:

Forwards:
1 - Elson(92) - Inglis(92) - Mayor(93)
2 - Ness(93) - Kambeitz(92) - Robinson(93)
3 - Maxwell(94) - McCoy(94) - Millette(95)
4 - Bricker(95) - Bleackley(96) - Hamilton(94)
Feser(95), Mpofu(96)
Defense:
1 - Dumba(94) - Thiel(93)
2 - Doetzel(95) - Bittner(93)
3 - Fafard(94) - Fleury(96)
Pochuk(95)
Goalies:
1 - Bartosak(93)
2 - Pouliot(94)

Didn't want to omit Hak, but I think they need to get Fleury in there, and I wanted to get it down to at least 7 '94s (and really thought the 'Carlyle connection' would be cool for the third pairing). Could just as easily be Hak in Fafard's place however.

What are the latest thoughts/projections? I thought I read that Bricker and Mpofu were reassigned.

There has been a few puzzling moves the last few weeks, so who really knows at this point.

Pochuk absolutely crushed the Winnipeg AAA league, winning 'Impact player of the year' after putting up 19 goals and 45 assists in 42 games from the blueline, and didn't look out of place at all at the end of the season when they brought him up to replace some of the fallen defenders for a while. He wasn't the best defenseman on the ice in training camp, but he certainly was far from the worst. After Dumba, there isn't really any defensemen whose style is going to generate offense, so essentially replacing Pochuk and his potential with an 18 year old defenseman from the SJHL that while solid, doesn't really have any offensive upside, seems a rather confusing move, for the time being at least.

Mpofu is a guy that would have probably cracked the roster at 16 this time last year, but the timing is just not right. I can't see him not making this team next year, whether it is as a forward or a defenseman, he just has too much speed and skill.

Bricker is another confusing deletion to me. With him being cut, the Rebels now have two legitimate WHLers from the '95-born players. He worked well in the corners, got in people's faces, and even laid a few guys out with open-ice hits. The fact that Feser, a guy that did NOTHING in training camp or preseason has hung on for longer than him, is another very puzzling decision. Hopefully his game gets to be about twice as good as the season progresses, to get them up to three legitimate '95-born players.

In the last week, they added a few Jr. B players on a tryout basis, with one leaving already. It is always a little troubling when teams start dipping into Jr. B when preseason is all but over, but hopefully they know what they are doing...
