With all the chatter involving the Blades being replaced I checked the records going back to when this format started in 83.Two teams have been replaced the Beauport Mustangs finished 5th and out of the play offs and were replaced by Drummondville the site was moved to Quebec City and the 1990 Hamilton Dukes who finished last .Hamilton remained the host city. There have been 6 host cities finish as low as 4th in conference or div when it was a 3 div league.Lowest ranked dub team was 2001 Pats who were 4th . In 1986 the host site was moved to Portland from New West due to the 1986 Expo although the Bruins finished last in div.
