Welcome to the pre-season, folks.

Well, there was a lot of ugly in that game on both sides of the ice...but some good with the bad is what the preseason is all about.

The Raiders were without Morrissey(D), Hart(F), Winther(F), Braid(F), Lange(D), Busenius(D), Quinney(F), and their 15yo Coleman(F) (Midget camp).

The Pats scratched Sacher(G), Hak(D), Burroughs(D), Williams(D), McCoy(F), Klimchuk(F), Ouellette(F), Stephenson(F), Christoffer(F), Stevenson(F), Hunt(F), Gay(F), Mumby(D), and Fenske(D).

Does anyone know if Regina has any players at NHL camps (Klimchuk or Stephenson?). There isn't anything on their web-site.

The game isn't web-cast so anyone from PA who isn't travelling to Regina will have to catch it on 900CKBI.

Wasn't able to make the game last night. Any standouts for the Raiders as far as new guys go?

McBride - shaky at times but settled down as the game went on.
Guhle - engineered the play that led to the winning goal.
D Stewart - nice pass to spring Conroy on the breakaway for the second goal...otherwise unremarkable.
Tyler Dea - invisible on the scoresheet but played hard all night along the boards and in the corners; outworked Verrall.
AND, let us not forget...
Big Mac scored his first WHL-level goal! Otherwise unremarkable...although he can keep up with his opponents far better this season than last. Still gets caught out of position some times, though.

Quinney and Coleman did not play.

The Raiders were without Morrissey(D), Hart(F), Winther(F), Braid(F), Morden(D), Verrall(D), Guenther(D), and Quinney(F).

The Pats scratched Burroughs(D), Klimchuk(F), Stephenson(F), Sacher(G), Bricker(F), Schoiler(F), Brooks(F), Ortynski(F), Rodewald(F), D'Amico(F), Samoridny(F), Harrison(D), Hand(D), Burroughs(D), Pilton(D), Henry(D).

The Pats have just given Beukeboom the hook for McAuley. Score is 3-1 with 2 powerplay goals for PA with a little over 30 minutes remaining.

Looks like PA is working hard to get the powerplay monkey off their back.

Is it unusual that the Raiders re-assigned Parenteau immediately after training camp, then recalled him to back up McBride last night? Wonder who will be in net tonight in Warman?

The starter Chevy hurt his hand in practice. He will be fine to start the season but this is why Parenteau was called.

Heard he will be ready for the home opener. Also talked to a fairly credible source who advised it is a good possibility that Harrison Ruopp will be back this year as well.

WBScranton (and the Penguins) would have to be completely mental to send him back, though...even if they had to sign him, play him the mandatory games and then send him down to the ECHL for playing time, he would still get more experience against adult, professional players than he would playing here against other 20-16yos.

Sure the Penguins' system is full of promising young d-men...but are they "that" full that they'd waste a year of developing Ruopp at the professional level?

I'd be surprised to see him return...pleasantly surprised, but surprised.
