Good pickup - exactly what the pats needed -

I fully agree, we did not need a 20yr old backup, Zgraggen brings experience and some size to our backend.

Now just the word has to come who is going to be MacAuley's backup for the trip & maybe the rest of the year.....

So who is our second goalie? Is MacPherson (sp?) here to stay if so what's his background?

I highly doubt he is here to stay im fully expecting he was just an emergency callup due to Engel being suspended. He has horrible numbers on the Regina Capitals & those numbers would be even worse in the WHL....

Im very interested to see what Lang's plans are for a backup goalie now, would they bring Trembley back? His appearance in relief in SC wasn't as bad as his numbers showed, he made some fantastic saves.

I don't think they want to rush Nick Schneider, im sure would be better off for him to play more game minutes in midget then sitting on the bench and practicing with the Pats. I have no info of this Fuhr kid we have listed he is 18yrs old so maybe him...

Grants kid played 15 games for the giants last year GAA 4.74 .830%
This year Laronge SJHL 9 games 3.02 .914%

Appears to be the front runner for the back up job. Why else would the Pats have him on the protective list (at his age).

Ah ok its that Fuhr that we have listed, I didn't look into it much about who he was but if its that guy with some WHL experience at least he is some what WHL calibre. The Giants were a very weak team last year so his numbers may of been inflaated abit cause of that. Hopefully he can be successful here in Regina if infact that's who they bring up as the backup.

He's not Grant Fuhr's kid.

Just a quick note here reguarding MacAuley and his numbers.....

8th in GAA with 2.71
7th in SV% with .914 (which would be even better if you take out his 1st start which was very rough for him)
7th in WINS with 9 (all of the Pats wins)
T-2nd in SO with 2 (could of been T-1st had MJ didn't score with 20secs left)
11th in MINUTES PLAYED
9th in SAVES with 392

With the addition of Zgraggen it should improve our team defense more, which hopefully will help MacAuley out even more. Im sure MacAuley learned abit from Engel in the week or 2 that he was with the team, so im not saying picking up Engel was a complete waste.

I know I was hard on MacAuley at the start of the year but I was always holding some type of hope that he would start to look like he belongs in the WHL.

We now need to get rid of 1 dman do we send Harrison down or trade Williams

I don't think any Dman will be going anywhere at least until after November, with the road trip & the quality of teams out there it doesn't hurt to have 9 Dmen with you.

Today Williams actually had a good game, with him no longer being in that top 4 with this addition possibly playing less minutes may actually be good for him. If it comes down to a reassignment I could see Hak being the odd guy out instead of Williams just due to the age numbers.

Hak is size we need plus I see him as a 20 next year. I thought Burroughs deserved 2nd star today.
