Giants Trade Jared Rathjen to the Medicine Hat Tigers

The Vancouver Giants have traded goaltender Jared Rathjen to the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2015 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Rathjen played 29 games with the Giants last season. He finished the regular season with a 13-8-4-1 record and posted a Goals Against Average of 2.98 and a .898 Save Percentage.

Wow i thought he was better than Lee.

But I guess he is older thus got rid of him.

Look like Lees job? He needs to vastly improve. This really is the year for him.

Rathjen had no chance of sticking around as a 20 year old. I'm not even convinced he will make the Tigers roster. They have some decent 20's eligible to return as well. It seems the Giants are content heading into the season with Sward, Bellerive and Hamilton and as their overagers. Not exactly the group I would choose (I think Hamilton should be replaced with a defenseman) but we will have to wait and see what happens.
