Here is an interesting event. If the playoff started tomorrow here are the match ups.
New system
First in both division BRANDON plays the # 2 wildcard EDMONTON
first in the other div MEDICINE HAT plays the #1 wild card KOOTNEY
east division 2nd REGINA plays 3rd SWIFT CURRENT
central division 2nd RED DEER plays 3rd CALGARY
the old system
1st in the conference BRANDON plays 8th EDMONTON
2nd MEDICINE HAT plays 7th KOOTNEY
3rd REGINA plays 6th SWIFT CURRENT
4th RED DEER plays 5th CALGARY

Not that it matters but under the old playoff format kootaney and swift current are tied for 6th with 40pts but kootaney would get the first tie breaker due to having more wins so the only match ups that would change is us vs kootaney and calgary vs swift current

PD114 I think you are correct but I just took the WHL web site standings by conference and they have Swift in 6th and Koot in 7th

ya who knows I don't think they really care about how the conference standings look anymore when it comes to a tie just due to the fact that they don't matter anymore.... but either way thanks for posting that info :)
