Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League today released its schedule for the 2005-06 regular season. The schedule is subject to change with any changes being announced mid-August.

As in previous seasons, the majority of games will be played on the weekend. Of the 720 games, 509 are scheduled for the weekend, with 200 to be played on a Friday, 206 on a Saturday and 103 on a Sunday. Additionally, 21 weekdays games occur on various holidays throughout the season, meaning 74% of the schedule is played on a weekend or non-school days. During the week, Wednesday night has 120 matches, 76 games are scheduled for Tuesday, nine contests for Thursday and six games for Monday.

The 2005-06 WHL regular season concludes on Sunday, March 19th and the 2006 WHL Playoffs will begin on Friday, March 24th.
