With tonight's victory Brandon pulls within nine points of the first place Blades who are presently trailing 3-2 in the third period in Calgary.

BRANDON, Man. (CP) - Eric Fehr's league-leading 36th goal of the season gave the Brandon Wheat Kings a 2-1 triumph over the Portland Winter Hawks in the Western Hockey League on Wednesday night.
Corey Courchene also scored for the Wheat Kings (21-13-5-1). Cody McLeod replied for the Winter Hawks (18-20-3-4).

Brandon netminder Mike Nichol made 31 saves, while Blake Grenier stopped 17 shots for Portland.

The Wheat Kings led 1-0 after the first period and 2-0 following the second.

I was surprised that he did not make the World Junior team. Fehr is one of my favorite whl players. Hope he gets MVP this season.

HMMMM, never knew that about him. Any ways, we won the gold.

Fehr has good size speed and a world class release yet he didnt make team canada? That makes me question his heart and his attitude i wouldnt pee on fehr if he was on fire. I will be shocked if the caps dont trade him within four years.
