Jackets have signed top goal scorer from the Czech Elite League
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Jaroslav Balastik, the top goal scorer from the Czech Elite League, signed a one-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.

The Blue Jackets' ninth pick in the 2002 National Hockey League entry draft, Balastik has spent most of the past seven seasons with Zlin ZPS HC in the Czech league. He played half of the 2002-03 season with HPK Hammeenlinna in Finland.
The right wing led the league in goals during the past two seasons, posting 30 goals and 16 assists last season with Zlin. He had 29 goals and 18 assists the previous season.

He really didn't slip down anywhere.He was only recently drafted,as where that other prospect was drafted a year or so ago.Brule needs to establish himself as a player at their camp and then we'll see how he fare's in their plans as well as their depth chart.
