The Blades came from behind twice in this game to tie it up but could not manage it a third time althought they came close.

Tied 2-2 after the second period, Calgary blew it open with two goals in a 1:38 span from Konstantin Pushkarev and Tyrel Lucas to take a 4-2 lead. Aaron Bader closed the gap to one with 2:03 remaining on a powerplay but it was as close as the Blades could come.

The Hitmen outshot the Blades 41-24 despite not having Ryan Getzlaf in the lineup for the game. Joe Barnes and Ryan Menei scored the other two for the Blades while Pushkarev and Dustin Kohn had the Hitmen's other tallies.

The Blades are now only nine points up on Brandon for first place in the East Division with the Wheaties holding four games in hand. It could shape up to be a nice race down the stretch for top spot. The Blades also missed an opportunity to move into a first place tie in the WHL with Lethbridge and Seattle who have 59 points to the Blades 57.

Actually I think Ladd was out of the lineup as well that night... Oh, no wait... he was just invisible. ;)

The Hitmen played a good game and managed to hang on this time unlike last time, although it was close again.
