Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans today are proud to announce the signing of 15-year-old center Cody Wutzke to a WHL education contract.

The 6’1”, 210 pound native of Aberdeen, Saskatchewan was the Americans fifth round selection 87th overall) in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft in May. With the signing the team has now signed its top three picks from the 2005 Bantam Draft.

Wutzke will remain with the team and appear in the Red Lion Hotel Pre-Season Tournament Friday, September 9th through Sunday, September 11th in the Coliseum.

The Americans also announced today that 17-year-old defenseman Kyle Breen of Winnipeg, Manitoba has been assigned to the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League effectively immediately.

Packages for the six-game tournament are available Monday through Friday from 9 am until 5 pm at the Americans office on the lower level of the Coliseum. Prices are $39 for adults, $33 for youth/students (3-17). The first 450 adult packages sold will receive a limited edition set of Americans beverage coasters. Hurry, supplies are limited! The tournament features the Spokane Chiefs, Seattle Thunderbirds, Portland Winter Hawks and the Vancouver Giants.
