Americans, Boosters and Costco Team Up for Red Cross Relief Efforts
September 09, 2005
Kennewick, WA – The Tri-City Americans will facilitate opportunities for fans who attend the Red Lion Pre-season Hockey Tournament this weekend to help provide aid for the areas stricken by Hurricane Katrina.

Throughout the three-day, six game Tournament, the Tri-City Americans Booster Club will provide containers for fans to deposit financial contributions that will go directly to the Red Cross. In addition, the Americans will execute the popular "Costco Chuck-A-Puck" program during the Saturday night Tri-City vs. Spokane match-up, with all proceeds benefiting the Red Cross hurricane relief efforts.

"Our staff, boosters, fans and sponsors have indicated a strong desire to help out," said Americans senior vice president of business operations/chief marketing officer Brian Sandy. "This will provide an avenue for our fans to support not only the Tri-City Americans, but their fellow Americans. During the September 11th weekend, I can think of no more fitting tribute than to help those in need."

The Tournament will feature five WHL Western Division teams including the U.S. Division rival Spokane Chiefs, Portland Winter Hawks and Seattle Thunderbirds. The B.C. Division’s Vancouver Giants will round out the field.
