Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings welcomed back veteran Derek LeBlanc this weekend after the 19-year old veteran was reassigned to the club by the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs.
Undrafted, LeBlanc was invited to the Leafs' Prospects Camp earlier this month and did such a good job that he was invited to stay for Main Camp this past week.
The 6'2" 203 lb. local product is coming off a career year that saw him score fourteen goals and 29 points in 67 games, while accumulating 86 minutes in penalties.
Although LeBlanc returned to Brandon on Friday, he is not expected to be in the lineup Saturday night when the Wheat Kings close out their 4-game pre-season schedule against the Pats in Regina
