The Prince Albert Raiders look to build upon a strong second half of the 2004-05 season and a great post-season run that saw them take Brandon to seven games in the Eastern Conference final. Up front, the Raiders will feel the loss of key players like team captain Jeremy Colliton and veteran Caine Pearpoint. However, the return of Finnish forward Aki Seitsonen - the team's leading scorer last season - and a healthy Kyle Chipchura should soften the blow. More will be expected from returnees like Brad Erickson, Brett Novak, and sophomore Ryan DePape. Defence shouldn't be a problem for the Raiders as the team returns five players from last year's squad including 2005 NHL draft picks Mike Gauthier and Jeff May. The addition of highly-touted Minnesota Wild prospect A.J. Thelen will also bolster an already deep Raiders blueline. Alex Archibald looks to be the number one netminder for the Raiders with the departure of Rejean Beauchemin, while Brant Hilton and 16-year-old rookie Karsten Felske duel for the back-up role.
