The Prince Albert Raiders announce that they have acquired 18 year-old defenceman Kevin Tipper from the Portland Winter Hawks in exchange for 18 year-old defenceman Garth Collins in a Western Hockey League trade this morning.

Tipper, 6'3" 219 lbs. appeared in 61 games for the Winter Hawks last season with 1 goal, 2 assists and 52 minutes in penalties.

Collins was entering his third season with the Raiders after appearing in 54 games in 04-05 with 4 assists and 140 minutes in penalties.

All the best to Grath as he is a very nice kid. He just did not fit in the Raiders plans with the strength of our D.
