Silvertips Face Off with Americans on Saturday Night

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips will battle the Tri-City Americans for the first of ten meetings at Toyota Center in Kennewick on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard on North Sound 1380 ESPN Radio starting with the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.

SILVERTIPS LAST GAME
Spokane Chiefs netminder Jim Watt made 31 saves to help the Chiefs shutout the Everett Silvertips 1-0 at the Everett Events Center on Wednesday, October 5. The lone goal was scored by Chiefs defenseman David Schulz. Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving was very solid in a losing cause with 23 saves. The Silvertips, out shot the Chiefs by a margin of 31-24 in the hockey game. Everett went 0 for 7 on the power play and Spokane went 1 for 4 on the extra man advantage.

WHO'S HOT
The Silvertips are led in scoring by Zach Hamill (1 goal, 5 assists) with 6 points. John Lammers (3 goals, 1 assist) and Jason Fransoo (1 goal, 3 assists) are tied for 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 4 points. Lammers leads the Silvertips with 3 goals and Hamill leads the hockey club with 5 assists. Defenseman Jason Fransoo leads all Silvertips defensemen in points with 4 and is currently tied for 6th among all WHL defensemen in scoring.

SILVERTIPS MAKE ROSTER MOVE
The Everett Silvertips have reassigned forward Brennan Zasitko to the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and have released Defenseman Derek Lewis.

VERSUS THE TRI-CITY AMERICANS
Saturday night is the first of ten meetings (5 home, 5 road) between the two U.S. Division rivals. The Silvertips are 7-10-3-1 all-time against the Tri-City Americans and 4-6-0-1 against the Ams' all-time at Toyota Center in Kennewick. Last season the Silvertips went 3-4-2-1against the Americans. Last season, the Silvertips went 7-8-4-1 on the road against the U.S. Division. In 2005-2006, the Silvertips are 0-1 against the U.S. Division.

SPECIALITY TEAMS
The Everett Silvertips are 4th in the WHL on the power play (7 for 26, 26.9%) and 19th on the penalty kill (12 for 16, 75.0%). During the 2004-2005 season, the Silvertips went 5 for 46 against the Americans on the power play. Tri-City went 3 for 44 against the Silvertips last season on the extra man advantage.
