The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that 18-year old goalkeeper Kurt Jory has been assigned to the Neepawa Natives of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

The decision leaves the Wheat Kings with twenty-six players on their roster - two goalkeepers, nine defenceman and fifteen forwards. The club's netminding tandem will remain 2005 WHL Rookie of the Year Tyler Plante, who has started seven of Brandon's eight games this season and 19-year old veteran Mike Nichol.

Previously protected by the Everett Silvertips, Jory was listed by the Wheat Kings during the 2004-05 campaign while playing in Neepawa.

As a member of the Natives last season, the 6' 180 lb. Brandon product appeared in 34 games, recording one shutout and compiling a 3.21 goals against average.

While with Brandon this season, the former member of the 2004 National Midget Champion AAA Wheat Kings, appeared in one game - coming in relief of starter Tyler Plante during last Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the visiting Saskatoon Blades. Jory saw nine minutes of action, recording one save

they can afford to keep more players on their roster as they aren't using billets for a bunch of home grown players...................
