Just thought some of you would like to know how Marc is doing. Marc was in Swift Current this past week and attended the Bronco game. Had a chat with him and he is doing alot of scouting for Team Canada now that the strike is over. He has become very involved in his old midget team, The Swift Current Legionnaires and gave the boys a pep talk on what it takes to make it. He has also headed The Legionnaires Alumni Association along with Patrick Marleau of the San Jose Sharks. He held the first ever Legionnaire Sportmans Dinner to raise funds for the midget team. Brought in TSN'S Peirre Maguire and Gord Miller who do TSN hockey. Very successful dinner. Marc likes to keep a low profile in this stuff but we did honor him at the sold-out dinner.
He is enjoying his role as Team Canada head coach. He along with Wayne Gretzky are leading Team Canada's charge for Olympic Gold. For those of you who did not know this, Marc and Wayne were team mates with The Edmonton Oilers back in the glory years and have stayed in contact and are good friends.
