Whitecaps are going forward with a new stadium to be built in Downtown Vancouver. Still have to get city approval etc.
For those of you who know Vancouver - it will be OVER TOP of the railyards near the Convention Centre, right near the 3 major transit hubs for Vancouver. ( Skiytrain, Westcoast Express, Seabus.)
Looks beautiful with the North end of the horseshoe design open to look out over the Inlet, looking directly at the north shore Mountains.
Current Capacity is slated at 15k, with the ability to expand to 30k.
Completion date is set for 2009, no word on wether the Lions may consider moving there, after their lease runs out BC Pace, which is in 2010.
