Calgary - The WHL Player of the Week is forward Eric Hunter of the Prince George Cougars. Hunter earned player of the week honours by recording four goals and seven points in three games, including a power-play goal, a short-handed goal and a game-winning goal during the week of October 10th to October 16th and helped lead the Cougars to a perfect 3-0 record for the week.
On Wednesday, October 12th, Hunter recorded a hat-trick and added an assist in a 5-0 shutout victory over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes. On Friday, October 14th, Hunter recorded two assists in a 5-4 win over the Giants in Vancouver.
On Sunday, October 16th, Hunter scored a power-play goal in a 5-3 victory over the Thunderbirds in Seattle.
Hunter, a 19-year-old native of Oakbank, Mantioba, is a free agent.
