Silvertips Heading into Big U.S. Division Weekend

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips are currently in 1st place in the U.S. Division with a record of 5-3 (8 points) and are currently on a four game winning streak. This weekend will be a big test for the hockey club as they battle three U.S. Division rivals. On Friday night the Silvertips will try to win their franchise record 5th straight victory at Key Arena as they battle the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Silvertips will host the Tri-City Americans on Saturday night at the Everett Events Center. The rivalry weekend will conclude on Sunday night when the Silvertips travel to the Rose Garden and battle the Portland Winter Hawks.

EVERETT SILVERTIPS SCORING LEADERS
The Everett Silvertips are led in scoring by Zach Hamill (3 goals, 6 assists) and Shaun Heshka (1 goal, 8 assists) with 9 points. Heshka also leads the team in assists with 8. John Lammers (4 goals, 3 assists) and Peter Mueller (1 goal, 6 assists) are tied for 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 7 points. Lammers along with Torrie Wheat lead the team with 4 goals. The Silvertips plus/minus leader is Peter Mueller who leads the team with a +3 rating. In goal, Leland Irving is currently 2nd in the WHL in Goals Against Average (1.77), tied for 3rd in Save Percentage (.927), tied for 7th in Wins (5) and tied for 2nd in Shutouts (1).

EVERETT SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS
The Silvertips are currently 2nd in the WHL on the power play (13 for 47, 27.7%) and 7th on the penalty kill (33 of 39, 84.6%).

THE STRIVE FOR FIVE
The Everett Silvertips have never won 5 games in row in their franchise history. The Silvertips have had two separate 4 game winning streaks in the regular season and two separate 4 game winning streaks in the 2004 WHL Playoffs in franchise history. In the 2003-2004 season, the Silvertips picked up four straight victories from January 17, 2004 to January 24, 2004. Last season, the Silvertips won four games in a row from January 30, 2005 to February 9, 2005. In the Silvertips inaugural season, the 4 game winning streak ended against the Seattle Thunderbirds on January 28, 2004 as the T-Birds defeated the Silvertips 5-1 at the Everett Events Center. Last season's winning streak ended against the Tri-City Americans on February 11, 2005 as the Ams' defeated the Silvertips 2-1 at the Everett Events Center. During the 2004 WHL Playoffs, the Silvertips won four straight games against the Spokane Chiefs in the first round. Everett also picked up a second 4 game winning streak in the 2004 Playoffs by defeating the Vancouver Giants in Games 4, 5, and 6 and a victory over the Kelowna Rockets in Game #1 of the Western Conference Finals.

VERSUS THE SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS
The Everett Silvertips are 9-8-4 (8-2-1 at home, 1-6-3 on the road) all time against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Last season, Everett won the season series over Seattle with a 5-4-1 record against the T-Birds.

VERSUS THE TRI-CITY AMERICANS
The Silvertips are 1-0 against the Americans this season. Overall in the all time season series, the Silvertips are 8-10-3-1 (3-4-3 at home, 5-6-0-1 on the road) against the Americans.

VERSUS THE PORTLAND WINTER HAWKS
The Everett Silvertips are 12-6-4-0 (6-4-1 at home, 6-2-3 on the road) all time against the Portland Winter Hawks. Last season, the Silvertips won the season series over the Hawks (5-3-2).

Once again the Silvertips will broadcast all 72 games this season. If you want to listen to the game inside the Everett Events Center during all home games, tune your walkman to North Sound's FM Station, 107.3 FM. Also the new and improved Everett Silvertips Hockey Show will be broadcasted live from the food court at the Everett Mall. The Silvertips invite all fans to attend every Monday night from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the Everett Silvertips Hockey Show at the Everett Mall.
