I know it's way too early to do this, but I wanted to post this and see how accurate I am come next season. Next year we only get to protect 15 players for the expansion draft. 15's and 16's are not eligible (90's and later), so we don't have ot worry about Kyle Beech, but who DO we need to worry about? We know Heshka, Kress and Wheat are gone due to OA limit. Remember also, only ONE Euro will be allowed next year (Hromas or Fiala?). I think the 20 year olds are limited to two next year as well, but I'm not positive about that. For the sake of this arguement, until I find out for sure, I'll leave three on the list.
So who does that leave currently on the roster? Here's my list (O/A in Bold, Euro in Italic):

Now, before everyone goes hyper over my Karel Hromas move...I think he could be traded prior to the draft. The reasoning is, he would not only take up a Euro spot, but an O/A spot as well...and that is a HUGE disadvantage next year when they tighten things up. By Keeping Hromas, you would need to cut BOTH Fiala and one of the three O/A in bold type. Of course, this isn't a final roster list, so theoretically we could protect Hromas still in case of injuries and use some of the O/A or Euros as trade bait later in the pre-season. I could certainly see protecting Hroms over Sawka or Smyke...although I like both those guys.
One more thing to remember, only ONE of these guys will be drafted by Chill. The others all will be back for camp, barring trade/release/retirement.
