Kevin Hayman and Matt Kassian staked the Blazers to a 2-0 lead :17 apart before the Rebels countered with their first of two powerplay goals on the night. Brock Nixon then restored the 2-goal advantage before the opening frame was over.
In the second Reid Jorgensen's 7th of the season put the Blazers up 4-1 after two, before Ashton Rome cut back into the Blazer lead...which was followed by Ray Macias' first of the season with 5 minutes left.
Final shots were 36-24 Blazers. Devan Dubnyk picked up the win while James Reimer suffered the loss.
The Blazers were 0-for-3 on the PP and 5-for-7 on the PK.
