Should be an interesting game between two of the better teams in the central division. GO HITMEN!

If Calgary wins and Kelowna loses, we will be #1 again in the WHL with a game in had. :groovy:

I'm really curious. Why do you bother to post this stuff?

Anyone interested is either at the game, listening on the radio, listening on the internet or can go the the WHL website and get exactly the same information.

I could understand a game recap and a little talk on how the game went after it's all over, but these updates seem to just a total waste of your own time.

On Sunday nights at work I get really really bored.

It was a close game. No one team dominating.

But for awhile, it looked like the Hitmen where heading for Penalty Problems.

If you are at work aren't you supposed to be working? :(

But for awhile, it looked like the Hitmen where heading for Penalty Problems.

Both Pogge and Keetley were insane.

Calgary only scored because a shot somehow found it's way through every player on the ice, and hit a puck sized hole between Keetley's pad and the post.

Medicine Hat only scored because the Tiger player with the puck didnt stop, and ended up pushing Pogge right out of the net, resulting in an easy shot on the rebound.

Both goalies made highlight reel saves all night long. Though MH probably deserved that game simply because we took so many uncesessary penalties. It's not often we are going to give a team ten powerplays and come out unscathed.

As it is, The current standings only underscore why I despise the losers point. Calgary is 12-4, yet are only two points up on the Tigers, at 9-7.

The Tigers are actually 9-3-0-4. Under the old system, the 4 shootout losses would be counted as ties.

The Hitties and Tigers will be battling all year for #1 in the Central. Hopefully the Tigers can gain back a few points from them by beating them in regulation the next few times they play, which is a ways away. The next time they meet is Feb. 1/06 in Medicine Hat.

Cheers to a continued Hitties/Tigers rivalry!

That's fitting because Calgary hasn't beaten the tigers yet. The Hitmen were twice successful at winning the dog and pony show that is the shoot out. The tigers played 65 minutes and the opposing team wasn't able to score more goals than them. Why shouldn't the tigers get a point? They didn't lose anything that is related to team game of hockey.

I agree. However, fact is, under the current rules, they lost. For better or for worse, we are stuck with the shootout, but that does not mean I like the idea of losing teams being rewarded. I would, and have, felt the same way when the teams I cheer for get gift points for losing.
