The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Calgary Hitmen goaltender Justin Pogge is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday October 30 after posting three wins in three games last week.

Pogge, a 19-year-old native of Penticton, BC, went 3-0 for the week with wins over the Moose Jaw Warriors, Medicine Hat Tigers and a shutout over the Kamloops Blazers. During the three games he allowed only 2 goals on 62 shots for a .968 save percentage. Last month Pogge was named to the WHL roster of the ADT Canada Russia Challenge and after last week improved his season record to 11-3-0 with a 1.61 goals against average and .918 save percentage.

Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.

It is great to see Pogge so recognized. He does deserve the credit!

But us Hitmen fans are concerned that our backup goalie is not getting any game time in this year.
