Beach leads Ok Rockets to weekend sweep(Capital News) It was the Kyle Beach Show over the weekend at the Burnaby Winter Club as the Okanagan Valley First Rockets swept a pair of B.C. Major Midget League games.
Beach scored six goals and two assists as the Rockets won both ends of a twin bill with the Northwest Giants.

The 6-foot-3 property of the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips, Beach scored two goals and added two assists in a 4-2 win over the Giants on Saturday.

Jordon Harrison and Steven Kajic scored the other Okanagan goals, while Stefan Schneider notched a pair of assists.

On Sunday, Beach scored four times in a 5-3 win. Andy Figuera scored the other goal, while Harrison picked up a pair of assists.

In addition to Beach's outstanding individual effort, head coach Ken Andrusiak was particularly pleased with his team's defensive play.

"All the work we're spending in our own end seems to be paying off, we're pretty decent defensively right now," said Andrusiak. "We don't finish very well as a team offensively, but I'm not too concerned about that right now." The Rockets (4-1-1) are currently in second place in the BCMML behind the league-leading Northeast Attack.

The Kelowna-based club will be on the road again this weekend when they visit the Southeast Flames, Saturday in Mission and Sunday in Chilliwack.
