Calgary - The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is rookie goaltender Kevin Armstrong of the Saskatoon Blades. Armstrong earned player of the week honours by recording a 1.35 goals against average, 0.958 save percentage, 91 saves and three wins during the week of October 31st to November 6th to help lead the Blades to a perfect 4-0 record.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, Armstrong recorded 29 saves in a 5-1 road win against the Swift Current Broncos. On Saturday, November 5th, Armstrong stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced after entering the game half way through the first, with his team down 3-1 and helped lead the Blades to a 5-4 comeback win in a shootout over the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers.

On Sunday, November 6th, Armstrong recorded 36 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Wheat Kings in Brandon. Armstrong was also named the Molson Cup First Star for Sunday's winning performance at the Keystone Centre.

Armstrong, a 17-year-old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is eligible for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
